A New Age Begins In 1989 the Berlin Wall was torn down, as was communism. This signaled the end of the Industrial Age and the start of the Information Age. The Difference Between Industrial-Age Pension Plans and Information-Age Pension Plans The voyage of Columbus in 1492 roughly coincides with the start of the Industrial Age. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 is the event that marked the end of that age. We’re in one such period right now. That change has already threatened the financial security of hundreds of millions of people, most of whom are not yet aware of the financial impact of that change and many of whom can’t afford it.
Great Economic Upheavals Coming
The stage is set for a great economic upheaval. Such upheavals have always marked the end of an old era and the birth of a new one. At the end of every age, there are people who move forward, and other people who cling to ideas of the past. We are afraid that people who still believe their financial security is the responsibility of a big company or big government will be disappointed in the coming years. Those are ideas of the Industrial Age, not the Information Age.
